Do

  • request a routine appointment if your problem is not urgent
  • request a routine appointment if you need a follow-up or check-up
  • request a routine appointment if you need help with a long-term health problem

Don't

  • do not use this option if you feel very unwell
  • do not use this option if you have symptoms that are getting worse
  • do not use this option if you need help with a health problem that cannot wait
  • do not use this option if your problem is serious or life-threatening
We use Anima for appointment requests

What is Anima?

We use a service called Anima to make it easier for you to tell us what’s wrong and get help more quickly. You don’t always need to call or come into the surgery.

You can fill in a simple online form using Anima. You can do this from your phone, tablet or computer, wherever you are. This means you don’t have to wait on hold to speak to someone.

Is my information safe?

Yes. Anima is approved by the NHS. It follows strict rules to keep your information safe. It only collects the details it needs to help us care for you.

Can I still call the surgery?

Yes, of course. If you phone us, our team will ask you the same questions that are on the Anima form. This helps us give everyone the same level of care, no matter how you get in touch.

What happens after I send a request?

Once you send your request using Anima, a trained member of our team will read it and decide the best way to help you.

Before we book you an appointment, we’ll ask what you need help with. This helps us:

  • decide how quickly you need to be seen
  • choose the right person for you to see (a GP, nurse, or another health professional)
  • decide if you need a phone call or a face-to-face appointment
